In-depth analysis of the current status of PET bottle development in China

　　Currently, China's polyester containers are mainly limited to biaxially oriented polyethylene terephthalate (PET) blow-molded bottles. The development of biaxially oriented PET blow-molded bottles in China's plastic packaging industry started relatively late, but since the introduction of injection-stretch-blow molding PET bottle production lines from Japan in the 1980s, they have achieved good results in beverage packaging, particularly with cola. Subsequently, a large number of advanced foreign injection-stretch-blow molding PET bottle production equipment was introduced. Based on digesting advanced foreign technologies, a two-step PET stretch blow molding machine with independent intellectual property rights, suitable for China's national conditions, and with a simple structure, was developed. It is used in conjunction with a general-purpose injection molding machine to produce PET preforms, which are then blown into biaxially oriented PET bottles.

　　These simplified blow molding machines not only have the advantages of low cost and high mobility, but if controlled properly, they can also produce high-quality and practical biaxially oriented PET bottles. Therefore, they have been widely recognized by the domestic and international plastics processing industries. In addition to widespread domestic use, they have also been partially exported. Although there is still a gap between these machines and advanced imported equipment in terms of production efficiency, automation, and product Size accuracy, there are still some difficulties in applications with particularly strict requirements (such as the packaging of Coca-Cola and Pepsi products).

　　In addition, the production equipment for multilayer co-extrusion PET bottles is yet to be developed domestically. However, the development and utilization of domestic two-step biaxially oriented PET blow molding machines has played an undeniable and significant role in promoting the rapid development of PET bottle production.

　　Currently, China's PET bottle production enterprises include large backbone enterprises that own the most advanced automatic PET bottle production lines from world-renowned companies (such as fully automatic PET bottle production lines from ASB and Aoki Kotei of Japan, SEDEL of France, and SIPA of Italy), as well as a large number of small and medium-sized enterprises using various simplified and practical biaxial PET blow molding machines of varying degrees of automation designed and manufactured in China. This presents an unprecedentedly vibrant and prosperous scene.
